Barco Teams Up with Datasat and THX® for Commercial Roll-Out of Auro-3D® Cinema Sound

Barco, Guinness World Record holder for the brightest digital cinema projector, announced today that it is partnering with THX® and Datasat Digital Entertainment to bring Auro-3D® sound technology to commercial theaters. Datasat is Barco’s partner for the manufacturing of the audio processor and THX collaborates with Barco on enhancements to optimize performance of the Auro-3D® system for commercial cinemas. Together, they apply vast experience and proficiency in digital cinema sound to the Auro-3D® roll-out.
Auro-3D®, powered by Barco and Auro Technologies, elevates the cinema sound experience to an amazing level of auditory acuity, enabling movie-goers to hear sounds from their relative origination point in the theater, and it does so in a simple and cost-effective way. To achieve this truly enveloping experience, the system incorporates additional speakers deployed in the upper portions of the auditorium that add an extra dimension to the sound experience. The solution is 100 percent backwards and forwards compatible with existing sound systems, requiring minimal hardware investment and installation time.

Datasat Digital Entertainment to Showcase Line of Cinema Products and New Trailer at CineEurope

CineEurope Amsterdam, 27 June 2011 – Datasat Digital Entertainment will have their full line of cinema products, including the AP20 Audio Processor, DC20 Digital Cinema Server, XD20 Media Player, and Alexandria Library Storage Server, on display Tuesday, June 28th through Thursday, June 30th at CineEurope. In addition to their hardware products, Datasat will also be showing their new digital sound trailer at booth #606 at the Amsterdam RAI.
Since its introduction at the show last year, the AP20 Audio processor has gained great traction. High profile installs of the AP20 include Max Linder and Gaumont Parnasse in France and Paramount's screening room in Greece. The features of the box has made it a sound choice both digital and 35mm cinemas.
Datasat Announces Joint Venture In India
